New Year, New Me!!

New Year, New Me!!
We all know this is BS!!
Change is a constant thing and it happens naturally, don't force it. And why do we want to change so badly? what's wrong with the current us?
Usually these "New Year, New Me" changes are changes imposed on us by society, friend or family. They're not really changes we want for ourselves. Instead of being so bent on changing ourselves maybe just take time make a list of pros and cons then work on improving the pros and possibly cutting out the cons.  Real change takes time. Trust me IT TAKES TIME!! and we are always tempted to fall back to old habits, which is why we need to know the whats and whys to our so desired change.

Be you.

Be 20something.

Be selfish!! Let me explain.....

Your twenties is the perfect time to be selfish, selfish with your time and your very being.

Early twenties, you're probably in college or just starting college, that's the time you want to find yourself, find what makes you happy and where you belong. It's a new environment and you're most likely focused on making friends, some good, some not so good but that's fine because your twenties is your time to explore.

Mid twenties, you're either finishing college or looking for job opportunities in your career field (maybe) by this time if you're luck you have crossed some major events and travel location off your list, if not, you still have time.

Late twenties, you're working in your career field or maybe you're just looking for jobs in your career field and possibly planning a family (maybe) and sadly at this point you're almost running out of selfish time.

Your early thirties, you either have children or they're on their way (maybe) but at this point it's no longer just you, you can't be selfish with your time anymore, you're now working with everyone's time.

Your twenties is the perfect time to be selfish, travel, exposure your horizon, to fall in and out of love. The perfect time to find who you want to be.

Live a little

"If we wait till we are ready we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives."

I can't say this applies to everyone but I've made so many plans that are carefully mapped out for the perfect time, with the right amount of money or with the right people and it just seems to never work as well as my "impulsive" plans. I don't see the point of pushing something you really want to do aside for the perfect time that probably will never come. There's a quote that says something like this "quit your job, buy a ticket, get a tan and never return."
It doesn't literally mean quit your job or never return but sometimes I take that way too literally. But honestly why not go with the wind? Take care of your responsibilities of course, but also remember to live life. I've been told that I'm a little impulsive but I don't see anything wrong with that. Enjoy life while you still have it.
